To all the individuals, organizations and communities who have given me the venue and opportunity to serve in one way or another and made a difference in their lives, a big THANK YOU.  For without my 23 years working abroad would be meaningless.

No amount of words could express how I am grateful for your sincere friendships, unwavering support to the activities and projects that we've implemented and shared.

The awards or recognitions given to me would not have been made possible if I made it alone, as such, I am sharing my happiness with you for these accolades.  Among those accorded to me are:

1.  National Awardee, 2009 Bagong Bayani Award for Culture and Arts
by the Bagong Bayani Foundation Inc., DOLE, POEA, OWWA
     Malacanang Palace, December 4, 2009

2.  Regional Awardee, Central Visayas, 2009 Model OFW Family of the Year Award
     by the DOLE and OWWA
Sofitel Philippine Plaza, November 26, 2009

3.  Regional Awardee, Central Visayas, 2009 Outstanding OFW Achievement Award
by the DOLE, POEA and OWWA
SM City Entertainment Center, July 13, 2009

Again, my heartfelt thanks. May this inspires you to do even better with your compassion and passion to help and touch others lives.  The real essence of accomplishment is not what we have but what we share.

All the best!

Bohol Directory / PMAP, Bohol Chapter
« on: April 30, 2009, 02:35:57 AM »
Personnel Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) is strictly professional, non-stock, not-for-profit organization of companies and individual management executives engaged or interested in Human Resources Management (HRM) and Industrial Relations (IR) work.

As a professional association, PMAP helps institutions mold an enlightened, competent, socially responsible and influential sector of people managers who can effectively participate in national building. PMAP also helps its members become more effective on the job by teaching the human aspect of management via numerous career development forums and training programs.

We at PMAP, Cebu Inc. under the present presidency of Ms. Ma. Chonita Rivera-Cejas in cooperation with Options & Concepts (an events management and consulting firm based in Tagbilaran) are preparing for covening all HR practitioners in Bohol through a seminar to be held on the latter part of May 2009.

The gathering is envisaged to spur cohesive efforts among individuals and organizations engaged in HR principles and practices en route to organizing a chapter in the Province of Bohol after almost 3 decades ( 28 years ) our neighbor Cebu had established their own.

We are inviting all Bohol HR practitioners to participate on this endeavor.  You can start by enlisting your name and/or organization on this thread or indicate your interest via email at junayag@yahoo.com  or sagee18@yahoo.com.

Any TB member may recommend or send a referral for PMAP, Bohol Chapter membership.  We will be reaching them (send invitation/flyer) through the provided contact numbers or email addresses.

Organizations or individuals/entrepreneurs who would like to be part of PMAP, Bohol history thru sponsorship of the initial gathering are most welcome ( on a first come first serve basis ).

It is with sure optimism that with your prayers and support, PMAP-Bohol would become a reality.

Thank you.

Cheers!

Note :We will be posting updates of the Programme on this thread.

Philippine Business News / Belgian Man Kills Filipino Wife, Self
« on: April 18, 2009, 11:46:45 PM »

As Published in the Arab News - News Brief, Saudi Arabia's daily
April 17, 2009

Quote:
"A 60-year old Belgian man killed his 37-year old Filipino wife and then shot himself in a fit of jealous rage in a northern Philippine town, a police officer said yesterday.  Constant Van Girt allegedly shot dead his wife Rosaly during a heated argument inside their house in Iguig town of Cagayan on Wednesday.  Senior Inspector Wilfredo Dupaya said that after killing his wife, Van Girt shot himself."

Unquote:
Opted to post this article for others to reflect especially to the 2 recent cases in Bohol.  A lot have spoken objectively on the issue.  There must me some deeper reasons; but to judge Boholanos and creating stories that would make the tourism business suffers is inappropriate and not fair.

How To Tips / Our Happiness Is Up To Us
« on: October 30, 2007, 03:20:14 AM »
The biggest myth about happiness is when people say that it is not legitimate or correct for us to put our happiness ahead of everyone else.

This is a dabatable issue as we cannot give away to anyone else what we do not have for ourselves.  Just as you cannot give money to the poor when you don't have any, hence you can't make someone else happy if you yourself is miserable.

The very best way to assure the happiness of others is to be happy yourself and then to share your happiness with them.  Suffering and self-sacrifice merely depress and discourage other people.  If we want to make others happy, start by living the kind of life and doing the kind of things that make us happy.

Help & Support / Dedicate Yourself To Your Best Talents
« on: October 30, 2007, 03:14:54 AM »
Dedicate yourself to the development of your natural talents and abilities by doing what you love to do, and doing it beter and better in the service of a cause that is greater than yourself.

This is a big statement, a big commitment.  Being happy requires that we define our lives in our own terms and then throw our whole heart into living our lives to the fullest.  In a way, happiness requires that we be perfectly selfish in order to develop ourselves to a point where we can be unselfish for the rest of our lives.

Inspiration & Hope / Please Yourself First
« on: October 30, 2007, 03:10:18 AM »

Our happiness likewise depends upon our ability to please at least ourselves in all things.  We can be happy only when we are living our lives in the very best way possible.  No one can define happiness for us.  Only us know what makes us happy.  Happiness is an inside job.

Introduce Yourself / A Day with the TB Catalyst (Bohol)
« on: October 16, 2007, 10:34:55 AM »

It was a pleasure meeting the TB catalyst and administrator (Mr. Mike Ligalig) in Cebu ( as he's rendering son-to-parent chores for his father who is admitted at Velez Hospital ).

Dropped by to where they're billeted before noon time coming from my last phase of the business agenda.  Upon entering the room, I could felt the warmth of an impromptu reunion to one of the hall of famers in our secondary school ( 20 years my junior ).  And what relate me more is the recollection of his father that we're kumpare being the godparents to the son of the former Coast Guard Officer.

It was an hour of remisniscence as they (Mike's papa and mama) knew my mom, sisters and clan. The short meeting ended with words of thanks to the Creator and well wishes for the recovery.

To spend more time with the man behind TB, we've fetched him for a dinner at Laguna Garden Cafe & Resto in Ayala Business Park with my sis Daisy celebrating her birthday.

The place was a perfect ambience for sharing thoughts and revisiting the past (including outlook for TB),  what transpired in the recent EB in Bohol and the planned BIG EB.

But what struck me most was the good news conveyed by Mike that he is ever grateful for the outpouring support accorded by TB members even wiothout meeting personally.  Such manifestation made us dream bigger for TB. (more....)

LGU Philippines / Shaping Bohol For 2010 Election
« on: September 10, 2007, 02:36:50 AM »

So much have been said and heart about people, personalities, their achievements, strengths, weaknesses,  attitudes, opinions through publicities and testimonials; but all of these would be meaningless if these would not be translated into a course of action - an Action Plan.

Let us be proactive and not to resort to vote buying at the last minute....  are we limited with our choices? why can't we deliver results?  we must tower above prevailing constraints...

if we want change, let us support and work to make this planned changes happen...TUBAG BOHOL CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
