Perfect place for contemplation for me is the Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration chapel in my parish. When I want peace and quiet place to talk to God , mo bisita gajod ko ani.

Ever since i was in college, whenever i am feeling down and feel the need for support and encouragement, I visit my church's adoration chapel, which is always open 24/7.

I remember when it was November 20, 2007, when I found out that my best friend had committed suicide because of his major clinical depression. I was so overwhelmed with grief and sadness of his unexpected passing that I could not stop crying. I was scared for him, so one day, I was compelled to visit St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, which is my home parish in Williamstown, New Jersey. I visited church in the dead of night, at 12 midnight. I thought the church was closed, but to my surprise, the building was open and the lights on. I poured my sentiments, my emotions, my grief and the emotion within me out and bared them open unto the Throne of Grace.

Tears poured from my face and  with supplication, I asked the Lord of Mercy, Jesus Christ, to have mercy on the soul of my best friend.

After finishing a novena for the soul of my friend, Robert, I felt a sense of comfort. Ever since then, I have offered novena for my friend and have visited church's perpetual eucharistic adoration to give my hurts and my troubles to the Throne of Grace.

For me, praying in perpetual adoration chapel gives me peace. It provides the perfect place for me to contemplate on my failures, my sins committed, and for me to reconcile with God.

But he was stunned when sunrays streaked through the gaps in the edges and formed the stunning picture.

Isres had been visiting the Grand Palace in Bangkok when the phenomenon happened.

He said: “I went with one of my friends to take photos at the palace’s Temple of the Emerald Buddha.

“After a few hours we decided to leave and when we were almost at the exit I saw the sky was going to close like it was going to rain.

“Sunrays sneaked though gaps between clouds. It was so beautiful so I stopped and took photos.

“Suddenly clouds moved further and formed an angel-like formation over the Grand Palace.

“It was incredible, I said to my friend, ‘Look, the angel blesses us’.

a few years ago, when my brother was on the throes of death, my sis-in-law texted me, who was far away, to go to the nearest blessed sacrament.  i knew where a 24-hour open tabernacle was; i walked all the way to that church, crying.  as i faced the monstrance with the eucharist in the open tabernacle, i realized i didn't know what to pray.  so i talked and mumbled to a presence that i felt was just right there, in front of me.  it was like talking to the best of best friends.  a certain kind of warmth spread all over me, starting from the head.  it was soothing.  there and then, i learned to accept the unacceptable.

I'm sorry, isles, to hear of the circumstance that you described. I can truly empathize with you and relate to your situation. All i can say is that the peace one receives,  a sense of outpouring of Divine Grace, when one observes the sacrament of the Eucharist in Eucharistic adoration ....transcends any notion of verbal explanation/ expression.

The peace of God permeates and abides in one's soul during Eucharistic adoration gives you a sense of peace that is not of this world.
