remember that 1985 song that was a worldwide hit?

by USA for Africa

part of the lyrics goes:

Send them your heart so they'll know that someone cares
And their lives will be stronger and free
As God has shown us by turning stones to bread
So we all must lend a helping hand

"We Are the World" is a song and charity single originally recorded by the supergroup USA for Africa in 1985. It was written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie, and produced by Quincy Jones and Michael Omartian for the album We Are the World. With sales in excess of 20 million copies, it is one of the fewer than 30 all-time singles to have sold 10 million (or more) copies worldwide. (wikipedia)

Luke 4:

Jesus, as in Mark 1 and Matthew 4, travels into the desert and fasts for forty days. He is confronted by Satan, who tempts him with three things.

The first is that Satan commands him to turn stones into bread. Jesus replies "Man does not live on bread alone", quoting Moses from Deuteronomy 8:3. (wikipedia)

jesus multiplied bread (and fish) to feed the multitude in some other occasion.  (matthew 14, mark 6, luke 9 and john 6)  nowhere is it in the bible that he changed stone to bread.

michael jackson and lionel ritchie got it wrong.

You're right, isles. The Lord Jesus Christ never changed stone to bread, the devil , may God rebuke him, tried to tempt Christ to change stone to bread, however. Our Sovereign Lord Jesus Christ answered, "It is said: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test." (Matthew 4:7).

and a potential biblical fallacy?

He he, I suspected that with your superb scholarship in both religious studies and pop culture, you would pounce on the dubious phrase. I would have been truly titillated, though, if you made reference to some poetic misinterpretation of the M-theory.

On a more poetic note:

Ecclesiastes 11:1

Cast your bread upon the waters, for you will find it after many days. (English Standard Version)

and a potential biblical fallacy?

Or perhaps a potential evolutionary fallacy as well?
