This song was written while driving on the way to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, one springtime day. The scenery was so beautiful and striking that it kept feeding thoughts in my mind. The mental phrase, "Look at the trees," just never left my mind even long after that leisurely drive. It got hooked on me and I to it.
The original material was actually recorded "live" at St. Rita's Church with the school children, then later on dubbed in additional sounds (i.e., pan flute, bass and additional guitars) in my studio to create more sonic atmosphere to the song in general.

1
Look at the trees
See how they grow
Sign that springtime has come,
It's a sign of God's love for you;
Sign that springtime has come,
It's a sign of God's love for you.
2
Look at those birds up in the sky
Singing sweet melodies;
They are singing for you and me.
Singing sweet melodies,
Just like daddy and mommy.
(Interlude)
3
Look at the sun
Feel all its warmth;
God is reaching for you,
God's touching you.
God is reaching for you,
God's touching you.
4
Look at the rain falls on dry land,
God is nourishing you,
God cares about you;
God is nourishing you,
God cares about you.
(Interlude)
5
Now look at yourselves,
See when you smile (Yes, when I smile)
God is smiling in you;
God's joy in your heart.
When God's joy in your heart,
God is smiling in you.
