Ladies,
This is very interesting. The notion of 'panuhot' was alien to me as was the notion of 'uyap' until I went back to the Philippines this past July 2010, and something that Aspo mentions to us reminds me of what a massage therapist told me. She talked about taking care not to go to bath after being massaged or exposing so much to air because of 'ma panuhot ka'.
It is interesting that most of the older generation who have lived to such old age have strong belief in this so called 'panuhot' and evading it by reducing high exposure to air and bathing after a massage.
There is very little medical explanation to this and when told about it, i listened to them and the cultural aspect, i took in. But interesting.
I was reminded of this just by re-reading the conversation between you two ladies.
