Press Release - Borongan opened its doors to further travel, tourism, and the local economy via Manila-Cebu-Borongan commercial flights, operated by the country's flag carrier, Philippine Airlines.
On its maiden flight on December 19, PAL touched down at Punta Maria Borongan airport at 11:59 in the morning after a quick layover at Mactan International Airport.
Aboard the craft on its inaugural flight were Borongan City Mayor Jose Ivan Dayan Agda, City and Provincial Officials, Eastern Samar Governor Ben P. Evardone, 4Ps Representative and House Minority Leader Nonoy Libanan, and some airline executives.
In a previous message, Eastern Samar Lone District Representative Maria Fe R. Abunda thanked everyone who helped reach this milestone and urged Boronganons and Estehanons to support and participate as team players in this concerted endeavor.
Borongan City, through Mayor Agda, is hopeful this effort will open opportunities to all Eastern Samarenos.
PAL flies from Manila to Borongan via Cebu every Monday and Friday at 8:40 am and Borongan to Manila via Cebu at 12:30 pm.
