We might have encountered a lot of times the advice to “wait on the Lord” when we are in the middle of an unbearable circumstance or when we are on the waiting season. Maybe most of us have thought of choosing the easier route- taking matters in our own hands or giving up, especially if we do not want the longing or the pain that waiting entails.
As we face this ordeal, may we never forget His beautiful promise. As stated in two verses below:
-Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, And He shall STRENGTHEN your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD! (Psalm 27:14 NKJV)
-Be of good courage, And He shall STRENGTHEN your heart, All you who hope in the LORD. (Psalm 31:24 NKJV)
He will STRENGTHEN our hearts for us to endure! If it is just us, it will be so much tiring given our capacity as humans. But the hard work is not on us, but on God alone!
What does He require us to do then?
To be of good courage.
“So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight.” (2 Corinthians 5:6–7)
When our eyes are set on Him, on the victorious ending of our story in Christ, it will give us much more courage to step forward. And this courage is only possible when it is fueled by faith.
Wondering where to get that extra faith or the new faith you badly needed?
“Faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” (Romans 10:17)
All that we will be needing has already been provided by the Lord. May we carry in our hearts this truth that we have a perfect God with a perfectly laid out plan through His perfect wisdom and love.
My prayer for today, is that may you continue to put your hope in the One who will never disappoint and may have the courage to wait and see the truth of His promise, that He, has made everything beautiful in its time (Ecc 3:11).
