The Fence
« on: June 25, 2008, 10:56:41 PM »
There was a little boy with a bad temper. His father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, to hammer a nail in the back fence. The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Then it gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence. Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper. The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone. The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. He said, "You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. It won't matter how many times you say I'm sorry, the wound is still there. A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one. Friends are a very rare jewel, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, they share a word of praise, and they always want to open their hearts to us.

Many of us need to reflect on this issue.

Especially in the talking down of others.
This is one of the things that I don't like.

The talking down of others, with haughty eyes.
If a man or woman is in high economic status, or in educational level,
he or she should not talk down to others who are not as privileged.
Talk with respect. Show respect.

You are just dust.
We're all dust.
So why does dust talk down on dust?

I know of an individual,
who talked down on many individuals because this individual
was a professor/college instructor
and looked down on other Filipino OFWs for being not as educated.
Pointing out their flaws in english, grammar, language etc.

While not knowing that those OFWs were trained in nursing,
engineering, finance, management.

The pride of this individual was too high, eyes too haughty.
This same individual ridiculed and attacked others on their physical status,
attacking the beauty of others: physical and spiritual.

This individual, is an example of an ugly individual.
One who has destroyed the fences; and building fences in his/her own right.

Jesus said to us:
Watch what comes out of your mouth. For the things that come out of your mouth are far more dangers than the things that go in.

God Bless.

Like this dong, yeah i wish people are not putting other people down, so many out there are not thinking that although they are rich or poor, clever or not good enough are the same human being, in the end of our lives are going back to dust and again.
Hmm my English is not as good as you dong but your correction is heartily accepted.

A very good friend of mine, you could say that i hold her as an 'elder sister' was in a predicament several months ago, actually.

She cried because of the harsh workds said by some individual, very lecherous words kaayo.
Words that don't need to be said through the mouth, harsh and ugly words, that reflects the ugliness of that individual saying it.

My good friend cried because of those dirty words.
I, being a protective Kuya to my own younger blood siblings,
felt a natural urge to protect my 'Ate-Ate'.
Why would anyone dare try to utter such hard words to my ate?
When this ate of mine is probably one of the nicest, gentlest soul,
kind, loving, and so very CARING kaayo.

This ate of mine was there for me when i was mourning the death of my best friend,
was there for me through our conversations, and there for me from my graduation from college,
and even now. And i do love this ate of mine. I love her as if she was my own blood older sister.

For me, i cannot fathom why anyone would say such things to her in such a negative and ugly way--but then again, I am reminded that the GOOD will always be apprehended by the bad people in this earth. People who have fallen sway, and easily influenced by the lies and the serpentine influence of the devil and his many demons.

So I pray for this individual--the one saying the bad things.
I pray for this person to recollect on his/her words.

Most of all, I pray for my ate-ate. For her beautiful and big heart!
And that no matter what, I am always here for her.
Because she is my Ate,
and I am her Dodong BranBran.

She is my sister in Christ,
and I,
her brother In Christ.

To support one another,
upstand her,
and defend.

NO matter what the words people will say, to us,
despite its malicious nature,
We give all their negative comments and give it to Jesus.
Because Jesus CHrist is our Shield.
And our Armour.

Jesus will dry our tears,
will strengthen us, and defend us.
And most of All, we ask Jesus to forgive those--who curse us, and antagonize us.
For they know not what they do.

====

Watch your words lang, guys.
Don't be so quick to usher curses, and anger.
Contemplate.

Be reasonable to one another.

God Bless You All!
You know I love you all,

Your Brother in Jesus Christ,
Bran
