There is great difference between the wisdom of an enlightened and devout man and the learning of a well-read and brilliant scholar, for the knowledge which flows down from divine sources is much nobler than that laboriously acquired by human industry.

There are certain things that need to be
pointed out for this question.

Most people see intelligence as the amount
of information compiled in the human mind.
The knowledge gain over a certain amount
of time or just the stored information
about anything we can learn about.
This is all true but there is a
difference between intelligence and wisdom.
Intelligence usually implies a "flawless"
execution of something but on the other
hand, wisdom is intelligence gained by
making mistakes.
"They are wise beyond their years" is
a famous phrase that we are all familiar
with. This phrase usually indicates that
a younger person is intelligent enough
to know not to make certain mistakes so
wisdom is intelligence in personal
experience. While intelligence is
the knowledged learned without making
a mistake, wisdom is knowledged learned
by making mistakes. Another definition
of wisdom is intelligence that is used.
There can be alot of smart people out
there but if they don't use their
intelligence then they are not wise...

and does the raven outrace (or outfly or outwing?) the vulture for the prize called carrion?

Ah, apparently carrion is the raven's muse, not its victuals...

ah, but this is better:

20 Whence then cometh wisdom? and where is the place of understanding?
21 Seeing it is hid from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the fowls of the air.
22 Destruction and death say, We have heard the fame thereof with our ears.
23 God understandeth the way thereof, and he knoweth the place thereof.
24 For he looketh to the ends of the earth, and seeth under the whole heaven;
25 To make the weight for the winds; and he weigheth the waters by measure.
26 When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder:
27 Then did he see it, and declare it; he prepared it, yea, and searched it out.
28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.

Job 28

The wellspring of all wisdom and understanding--Is The Lord.

1  My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;
2 So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;
3 Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;
4 If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;
5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.
6 For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

Proverbs 2

One is reminded of Solomon, whom God gave a wise and an understanding heart, and riches, and wealth, and honor--and 700 wives and 300 concubines.

Indeed. Solomon the Wise, Solomon the Magnificent. But you see, the reasons why God gave him all the riches is because when God asked Solomon what he wanted and wished for, Solomon asked to know more of God, to be closer to God and to know "His Ways".

Because Solomon did not ask for riches, for wealth, for honor, God rewarded with him a bountiful life. The riches of the world ; the flood gates of Heaven poured on him, Solomon, all that one could ask for in life.

And so it is so that no king in Judea would be as great and wise as Solomon. Before and After.

It is a lesson. Ask for God's knowledge and wisdom, and all the riches of the world will come after.

Matthew 6:33, "Seek ye the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you..."
