There is no integrity in a liar.

only if he violated someone else's rights, thus it is dangerous to talk in absolutes.

one's integrity is not diminished if he lied to a hold-upper that he doesn't have money. (he had the sense to put his money in the socks that he's wearing.)

one's integrity is amplified if he lied to a posse or death squad where their next victim is hidden. (he knows because he himself hid the potential victim in their attic.)

hypothetically, let's say i have a friend who's dying of breast cancer and i know that her husband is seeing someone else. never will i tell my friend about her husband's infidelity. it's between her husband and his god. as for my friend whose days are numbered, why should i add to her pains? i will lie to her straight-faced if she asked me where her husband goes at certain times.
