moderation and down to humility - that's a good statement. I have seen a lot of people who find it difficult to keep successes, for example, to moderation -some of us must have been one of them in past or at present. It gives them pleasure to be on top of everything and to reach their goals no matter what it takes. That's why I was thinking when I read the key words earlier mentioned - obsession, moderation and humility. It seems possible to mix moderation and humility but hard to imagine being obsessive and being humble.

The word humility have different effects on different people. As they say, its a word that is seldom in neutral gear.

As for me, humility stands for modesty, lacking pretence and not believing that your are superior to others.

I agree! reaching out to share your blessing to many and not expect anything in retun, that's one big thing a humble person can do. Even if we don't have money, we can still share like our talent, visiting the sick, giving comfort to people who are sad. I also strive to do corporal acts of mercy because I want to please God and there's no better way to please Him than to do good to mankind.

I'd say it's stupidity or maybe misguided ideology! I still can't fathom the thought that these suicide bombers actually believe that they are secured of space in heaven (note: we also have heaven thread) if they kill themselves, bringing with them innocent people - young and old and leaving behind distruction of properties and most importantly distruction of lives of the families left behind? What do they think their God is? A sadist? It's only God who has the complete volition of our lives and not suicide bombers or bad elements who kill people.

Jun, I believe that not all people believe there is a Creator at all - either they are brought up that way or they are too smart to accept that there is one Divine God who is responsible in creating the universe. It is so difficult to argue on this to people because they are not out there to listen but to make you believe what they believed in. My brother in law here has a friend who is an atheist (Michael Newdow). At one time, we were to see in one party and they were kind of excited and yes, I was excited too because I was gonna tell him, God bless you! But he didn't show up in the party...

I viewed the youtube that ms da binsi shared - just the first part. I have to admit that the guy pointed some issue that sound so believable. He was trying to selectively choose bible scriptures that can negate the churchs' teachings. There was one question though that he raised that made me wonder. He said, which God to choose? Do you believe that "every human being has it's own God"? As Catholics, we do believe in the Trinity but the bottomline is there's only one Creator and my understanding is God the Father is the Creator. Whatever religion we believe in, we are all children of one Creator. We may call him Daddy and others call him Tatay or Papa or their first name but he is one and the same father. Am I wrong, Jun?

grazie... you are correct in saying that the Creator every man looked up to is his God, regardless of whoever and whatever...it is his faith that built the religion to himself... I don't believe on full-bloodied-aethiest...for am sure in his lifetime even for a millisecond, he/she had called and thanked some one when some thing matters to his / her life...
