The Paris trip materialized when the group performed before France's Prime Minister Jean Marc Ayrault and his wife Brigitte Terrien during the French premier's visit to the Philippines late last year. It left the couple impressed, leading to the invitation for the children to perform at the opening of a major art exhibit in Paris.

The exhibit at Musee des Arts Premiers du Quai Branly features a grand exhibition titled "Philippines: Archipel des Echanges (Philippines: An Archipelago of Exchange)," which will showcase Philippine artwork and artifacts dating back to the country's pre-colonial period.

Giving Back the Smile to Street Children

Virlanie Foundation is a non-government organization (NGO) reaching out to street children.

It cares for children in need of special protection: abandoned, abused, exploited, neglected, orphaned, poor… Close to 200 staff and volunteers, supported by a network of donors and sponsors, touched the lives of 1,211 street children in 2011.

Founded by French social worker, Dominique Lemay and his Filipino friends, the non-profit foundation celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2012. Since 1992, Virlanie has helped 14,700 children become responsible and self-sufficient adults.
