Nothing Is Too Small
« on: July 03, 2009, 01:19:00 PM »
Written by: Albrando Lorenzo Lucino Jr.

Last week, Job and I prepared the songs to sing in Sunday Mass, the two new songs we prepared were entitled, "Here I Am To Worship" and "Mighty To Save". Our little two-man choir is such a humble little congregation, and I have been trying so much to rally the church members to sing with us in our Sunday afternoon mass.

Its been 3 months since we started to sing in Choir and I found out right after mass last week that some of the members were indeed appreciative of the songs and praise songs. I was deeply touched to meet and make the acquaintance of two older women who sat in the back, they were disabled--Christ Bless Them--and it made Job and I smile in glee to see and hear that they were appreciative of the songs.

The one older lady whose name was 'Jolie' really liked the song entitled "Here I Am To Worship".
I was embarassed a bit because i know that Job and I are just a 2 man team. And my voice really isn't that great, just average ra intawn. And I feel so blessed because these past 2 weeks, we've recieved greater contributions and volunteering in Church. More students took up the role of Eucharistic ministery, as well as Gospel Readers and just last week I found out that more people wanted to join the Choir and help us sing. hehehehe!

Gamay ra intawn si Job ug ako--kai duha ra man jud mi. So ning contemplate ra pood ko this week about the miraculous power of prayer. Ning pray among parish priest that more youth would take part and be active members in worship; and ning join mi. And then we prayed some more for more help, more hearers and doers of the Word. And lo and behold, it was made so. These past few weeks have been so very touching and empowering for me. Oh how beautiful and powerful is Prayer! Song made into Prayer!

What started as just Job Mendez, and I--Albrando Lucino--being regular choir volunteers--have become 5-6 members. hehehe. Glory be to the Name of God The Father! The Son Jesus Christ and The Holy Spirit.

I realize this intimately that there is no prayer that is too small or to miniscule for The Lord God In Heaven.

He has answered my little prayer on choir membership. Praise be to His Name!

PS. Thank so much to Job for being such a great guitar player, and the lead singer. Ako--just backup ra man jud ko hehehe.

Christ Jesus is SO Good.  ;D

Today, Job and I sang with other members of the choir. I was excited kaayo because we have a new singer, Teresa. She is a 1st year student and was always asking whether I go to a church service or not. And what is funny is that when I was in church today, preparing the microphones, plugging the wires and reciting with Job, i thought of this thread. The little choir group--God Bless Us--was strengthened today by the arrival of Teresa. She came to mass and ran to our direction, and asked, "Do you guys need help singing?"

Job smiled, with his guitar straps around his neck. And I, in amazement of the Glory of God, answered, "Of course, pick up a sheet" lol!

Isn't it amazing how our littlest prayers--smallest requests as in asking God for more choir members--can be answered like that. :) Because The Lord is soo GOOD. :)
We sang some songs and as we were singing, especially during the ofratory hymn "One Bread, One Body." I could observe from my ears and eyes that most of the members of Church were singing loudly with us. Oh you could feel the spirit! hahaha, GOD IS GOOD! PRAISE BE HIS NAME!

At the end, as we were helping to put back the books--the two older ladies in the back were asking us to come their direction. So we did. Jolie was there, and so was Mercedes. These were two old ladies--they were touched by the songs and asked to get a copy of the two new songs we sang today "Here I am to Worship" and "In Christ Alone". I was almost brought to tears by Jolie's response and glee. You see, Jolie is an old woman, but she is mentally handicapped. But she sang anyways. hehehe.
Very buutan tawhana, imho. Always, mo wave siya namo or say hi, bisan after mass hehehe. You know i was really touched by them and their singing and their appreciation.

And I realize jud, am convinced, that there really is no impossibility for the Lord. His kindness shows--even in the eyes and face of a mentally handicapped individual who is well into her years. And it reminds me---that the physical really means nothing. It is, indeed, the soul---the inner beauty of an individual, that true matters.

I wanted to share that message, lang.
:)

God Bless Us, Everyone.

Recollection lang.

Last Saturday in mass, naka kta pood ko a mother and father. They walked to the isle to recieve the Body of Christ, and the mother--in her beautiful faith--carried in her arms, her baby. Gamay pa kaayo ang baby.

Observe lang ko, and ning smile pood ko. The mother recieved the Body of Christ, and the priest, blessed the little baby with a sign of the cross on the baby's forehead. Ning smile pood ang baby. hehe

Again, nothing is too small.
It is never too late, or too early to recieve Christ.

;)
