When we read the verse from scripture (Mark 1:40-45), we read and hear the testament to Jesus' Power and Act of Love. And the power of Jesus has touched me in contemplating this particular verse in scripture.

Scripture tells us:

     40 And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. 41 And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean. 42 And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed. 43 And he straitly charged him, and forthwith sent him away; 44 And saith unto him, See thou say nothing to any man: but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing those things which Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

      45 But he went out, and began to publish it much, and to blaze abroad the matter, insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in desert places: and they came to him from every quarter.

With a single touch, he wiped it away. Now do you know that although the fact that Leprosy is an ancient form of disease--to this day it is one that requires great care to treat? In Medicine, this form of disease "Leprosy" is part of the Myobacterium Family. It is known as Myobacterium Leprae. It comes in two forms: Tuberculoid Leprosy and Lepromatous Leprosy. Both of which cause devasting analgesia to the patient, as well as contusion and dermonecrotic results. The loss of appendages, nasal bridges, fingers, toes, etc.

The form of treatment for Leprosy is a tertiary form. We utilize Rifampin, Dapsome and Clofizamine. But the disease is so defective and resistant that it takes 2 years of heavy antibiotic treatment of RDC (rifampin, dapsome, and clofizamine) to eradicate this disease from the body; and even then---the damage done by the bacterium will remain. As in the loss of appendages, cardiac problems etc.

But when we read the verse in scripture from Mark 1: 40-45; I found it so compelling and beautifully POWERFUL. Jesus---only had to touch the face of the leprotic---and his disease was taken away from him. Removed. Everything restored.

Even now---in this modern of age---what takes years of constant and heavy treatment---Jesus can cure---and DID cure by just a touch of his hand. By the will of His Spirit. It was made so.


I stand before you today brothers and sisters---to repeat and reiterate this testimony of Mark in 1: 40-45. That there is no impossibility for Jesus Christ.


Merciful and Compassionate Savior.

I have a classmate, who is one of best students in my batch (an excellent student!). I am good friends with her because of her kindness, her confidence in work and in the Word of Christ. Her works and successes--gives TESTAMENT to His grace and Faithfullness.

Jyothi, that is her name, she is an ICU nurse who went back to medical school---and she's really smart. She knows her information, masters the clinical aspect. Her intelligence and knowledge gives me a newfound respect for all nurses. And most of all my own mother--who is also an ICU Nurse (Intensive Care Unit); since my own mom has been an ICU/CCU nurse for over 20 years.

I found out several weeks ago that Jyothi was paralyzed from the waist down due to an accident.
Now Jyothi, who is a Pentecostal Christian, told me that during a church visitation, she was touched by the Holy Spirit. She was healed, and was able to walk again.

I kid you not, I tried to ask her what was the medical reason for the revival. In her good and beautiful faith, she reiterated, "It was the HOLY SPIRIT."



Power.
Power Unassailable.

Amen JESUS!
