MORNING PRAYER AND DEVOTION

Genesis 1:1-3 "IN THE beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and an empty waste, and darkness was upon the face of the very great deep. The Spirit of God was moving over the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light, and there was light.

Your light is all we'll ever need
to move right in this world,
or else we'll fall along the way
with nothing, firm to hold.

You are the Light that guides our way
so we may not go wrong,
and so contritely, Lord, we pray,
please keep us always strong.

Your Holy Spirit is our guide
to lead us through the haze,
so when we see You face to face,
we'll be saved by Your grace.

In Christ, we pray...Amen.

THE very first creation of God was the light. Rightly so. If you enter into your room to do something, you need to first, turn the lights on, otherwise, you will be groping in darkness and won't be able to accomplish anything.

Verse 3 of Genesis 1 is meaningful and relevant to our day to day life wherein we are faced with so many decisions to make. Prior to this, we need God's light to guide us. If God Himself needed the light before creating all other things, how much less do we? Only the devil wants to operate under the shadow of darkness.

Creation started eons and eons of ages ago when there was nothing but darkness. And the voice of the Creator reverberated in this nothingness, saying: "Let there be light" and there was.

We too are in the dark when we need to make crucial decisions. On ourselves, we cannot do things right. Whenever we decide without the light of God, the likelihood is we will surely fail in our goals. We always need God in all things we decide upon, big or small.

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
