Here's an impromptu e-mail I sent to parishioners after Mass this Sunday...TO FELLOW PARISHIONERS: Here's a sample video of fun-singing Ryan (our organist) and I did after 11AM Mass today. Ryan was kind and patient enough to allow me to learn the music we had in our hands for the first time, hehe. We did 5 takes in all (we started to get hungry that's why we had to stop

). Anyway, this was TAKE 1.
This is a song written by a former contemporary in the seminary (he was the first songwriter-seminarian of our seminary who later became a priest and music director of same seminary)... while the lyrics was written by our professor/rector/former music director who later on became a Bishop in the Philippines. These 2 special people TAUGHT ME MUSIC (informal though it was), which I'm so blessed to share with you always in my 11 years being with you.
They co-wrote this song in the early or midst 2000 when Bishop visited the U.S. (Tampa, FL).

(Addendum: Like I said we were just having fun-singing... I was out of tune a lot of times hahaha. I promise
I will perfect this song soon and will be teaching this to our choir and our daily Mass Group)

Words by Most Rev. Zacharias “Ites†Jimenez, D.D.
Music by TQ Solis, Jr.
1
We are the children of the universe
Vessels of goodness, truth and beauty
Ambassadors of peace and love
We are the children of the world.
2
We sing of joy to everyone's heart
To touch and lift the human spirit
We hum a tune of harmony
Dancing to the feast of life.
Refrain:
We hold the promise of the future
Waiting to be born
We keep the strength of awesome wonder
Of a brandnew day.
3
We are the flowers in the garden
Of myriad colors, timeless splendor
Among the stones, grasses and thorns
We steal the eyes of everyone.
4
We are the treasure of humanity
The hope of every human family
No gold, no gem can buy a dream
Dream that one day will come true.
(Repeat Refrain)
(Repeat Verse 1)
Coda:
We can heal a broken world.
