hi im from newcastle and my prom is coming up, and i am planning on wearing a tux. ive been looking through websites and apparently a bow tie is more appropriate but ive asked all the boys at my school what there wearing and pretty much all of them said they were wearing normal ties, so now im really confused on what to do because i think bow ties will be more suitable but all my friends are wearing normal ties and i dont want to be the odd one out, so basically im asking what would your opinion be bow tie or normal tie ?

I had not seen anyone wearing tux during  prom day/night.
A tuxedo is the height of formal wear dressing for a man. Knowing when to wear one and what type to buy or rent can be a little trickier. Here's some help:

When to Wear a Tuxedo

    * When the invitation states Formal, Black Tie, Black Tie Invited or Black Tie Optional
    * To the opening of the opera, ballet or symphony
    * Ball or formal dance
    * Formal dinner party or reception
    * Dinner at a formal restaurant (some folks think you should be dressed at least as well as your waiter)

Hi.Is it Newcastle Upon Tyne?.My sister is a nurse here.English people are pretty much formal in their attire in about almost everything they do.So you probably have a clue of  what to wear,if not go for a normal tie.It's your prom ! have fun. :)
