Final Destination
« on: November 01, 2009, 02:06:16 PM »
An excerpt from Fr. Jerry Orbos' column 'Moments'.

In today’s Gospel (Mt. 5, 1-12) Jesus shows to us the road to take so that we will not be mere souls, but saints. The road is the road of the “Beatitudes.” Take time today to check the road you are taking, and the life you are living. Do you experience poverty in spirit, mourning, meekness? Is there righteousness, mercy and purity of heart, peace, or persecution in your life? Then, “Rejoice and be glad for your reward will be great in heaven!”

“It’s just a matter of time,” All Souls’ Day is a timely reminder for all of us that, sooner or later, we all will die. Yes, the journey will come to an end someday. Just when is not for us to say. What matters is not the miles behind, nor the wealth in our hands, but the love and the peace we carry in our hearts. Hello! You who are so engrossed in making more money, and in charting and cementing corridors of power, are you listening?

For those who are so focused on “image,” it would be good for you to reflect today: “What will people say about me after I die?” For those who are surrounded by cheer leaders, entertainers and jesters, remember, too, that your so-called staff and entourage will not be there for you once your power and money are gone. The bottom line is: “What will God tell you when you finally come face-to-face with Him?”

In our earthly journey we encounter all sorts of people. Some are sinners. Some are saints. Many of us are not big-time sinners and definitely not saints. What should keep us humble and hopeful is the thought that there is no sinner without a future, and that there is no sinner without a past.

Amen.

Ang moral of the story:

Fear and Love the Lord Your God. For God loves those who Fear Him.
All in All, Trust in Him. For Always.

In memory of our loved ones who have gone to their eternal rest, let us remember them.

In earnest prayer:

Lord, Jesus Christ Lord.
You who are the glory of The Eternal Father God, vouchsafe for us the clarity of mind to live an honest and God-fearing life in compliance to the Will of Your Father God. Protect us all from any and all harm: physical and spiritual.

Lord, Jesus Christ,
Grant peace to the souls of those in purgatory,
and pardon them their sins. We ask this in your Blessed Name.
Lord have mercy on those that have passed into their eternal rest.
May they be judged with mercy and justice. Lord Hear our Prayer.

We Ask this through Your Name.
Through The Same Christ Lord.
In Him
Through Him
and For Him.

AMEN.

This is a good thread.
I was supposed to make a thread related to this
which should be entitled "Kumusta Ang Imong Pagka-Balaan?"

But the homily of Fr. Orbos is quite near to my planned topic,

Here i go. So, the bottomline of our earthly lurkings
is our Final Destination. That is true. There are two places.
The airconditioned and the non-aircon. H & H. Heaven & Hell.

Which do you prefer? And why?

For me, it is my desire to meet Jesus in the end of my days.
In the end of my earth era. All will end. You & me. At different
times & places.

But desiring Heaven shall be worked out at hand!
No work out, no airconditioned place!

So, before the Final Destination, let me ask each one of us:
"Kumusta ang imong pagka-Balaan?" "Naningkamot ka ba
karon nga mabalaan sa mata sa Dios? Nga angayan mahatagan
ug aircon nga dapit?"

Let us talk about pagka-Balaan (Holiness).
ug nawong. Moinom lang sa atabay nga maagian.
Mosaka lang sa kabalayan ug mangayog pagkaon.

Apan sa bag-ong panahon nga mao karon,
lahi na ang pagbalaan sa kaugalingon. Dili na parehas
sa panahon ni Jesus Christ.

Last Sunday (Nov 01), i heard Mass at the
St. Francis de Assisi Parish Church in Maa, Davao City.
Nindot kaayo ang homily sa pari. I may not be able to
duplicate his presentation of pagka-balaan sa usa ka tawo,
but the meat of it is carve in my mind. Here it goes:

man ang Final Destination, di ba? Didto ka sa Non-Air.
Sakit apan mao kini ang kamatuoran. Di ba, Bran?

Ang hunahuna. Ampingan ang hunahuna. Pun-a kini sa
maayong pamalandong. Alang sa pamilya ug ginikanan.
Ayaw ipasulabi ang daotang panghunahuna. Think proactively

Negosyo nimo pohon.
Do not entertain fruitless thoughts, it will grab your time
to the waste bin.

Practice loving the people around you. How? Help them
sa ginagmay nga paagi. Parte sa iyang trabaho. Share your
talents. Be good to them and they will reciprocate by
helping you. Makabalaan na kana.

Share your wealth to the church. By sharing, you are
helping the Evangelization Program of the church. By
sharing, you are giving pampasahe sa jeep sa mga
katekista.

Share some to the orphanage. Mahimuot ang Ginoo niana.
The Orphanage of Mother Teresa, does not accept money.
I sometime go there kon makaulig Davao.
What they will ask from anybody?
Go to the nearest orphanage and share. Testingi di ba
dili ma-measure imong joy!

Sa pag-ampo, Pray For Others Always.
Dili nga, Lord, i-bless ko, ako, ako, ug ako pod.

Kusog mobuhagay ang grasya diha nimo kon kusog
sa Ginoo ngadto sa imong giampoan moagi usab diay
kanimo.

Be specific in your prayers. Kon gusto kag Lamborghini.
Lord, hatagi kog Lamborghini. Be specific with your prayers.
God knows when to give & how to give. God knows kon
angayan ba nga ihatag. Mag-unsa man ang Lamborghini
God knows everything and
knows when to release them to you.

God is a rich God. Ma-insulto pod si God kon, "Lord
hatagi kog Multi-cab bahalag second hand kay gusto
ko mag-transportation business." Nganong second hand
pa man intawon? Make it new. Newly assembled one.

Pray everyday. Pray like you are talking Jesus face to face.
Talk free-wheelingly. Mahimuot ang Ginoo niana.

Please do it now for your Final Destination.

May God be praised, mga Sanos y Sanas.
