☞Today in History -- On today's date 693 years ago, Wednesday, June 7, 1329, famous Mediæval-Era Scottish king Robert I (1274-1329), popularly known as Robert the Bruce, met his earthly demise at the age of 54 when he died from the effects of a “grosse maladie” at Cardross Castle in Dumbartonshire, Scotland.

Robert was one of the most famous warriors of his generation, & he eventually led Scotland during the Wars of Scottish Independence against England.
