Mercedes 600 (1964-81) Engine 6332 cc V8 DOC power 250 bhp with sequential Bosch fuel injection Production 2677 Power assisted disc brakes, four speed automatic transmission, Power assisted steering, Front suspension = Double wishbone, air suspension,rubber springs and stabilizing bars. Rear suspension = Low pivot swing axle, radius arms, self levelling air suspension, rubber springs and stabilising bars. Dry /loaded weight 2600/3050 kg Pullman 2770/3440 kg. Fuel tank 112 litres.
Introduced September 1963 with production staring 1964 the 600 was always intended as a chauffeur driven limousine at the time of introduction it was the most expensive car in the world. Featuring an internal power window to separate the driver from the driven. Most of the cars were produced between 1964-72 after the 1972 oil crisis demand and production slowed appreciably but continued until 1981
The Pullman is a nine seater variant of 20 foot length.
