Guardia Civil de Las Filipinas (1880s-1896)

The Filipino Civil Guard was the pre-revolutionary army that was composed of Filipino soldiers and Spanish officers. It was the military body that enforced Spain's civil and military doctrine throughout the Philippine Archipelago. The Guardia Civil would revolt and later become the Revolutionary Army.

Filipino Fusilier, conscripted soldiers that formed the ranks of the Guardia Civil.
Note the Spanish-style head dress. 8)
