June 9, 1424: Blanche II, Queen of Navarre, was born in Olite to King Juan II of Aragón and Queen Blanche I of Navarre. Their eldest daughter, she married the future Enrique IV of Castile in 1440, making her the Princess of Asturias. The marriage was never consummated and was annulled in 1453. After her older brother's death in 1461, she was considered the new heir to Navarre, but her father, who had pretty effectively seized the throne, had already had her incarcerated on her return from Castile, making it almost impossible for her to press her claim.
