Vocareum virtual lab platform provides teams with managed access to AWS-sponsored services and in-kind credits

Vocareum, an education technology software company, today announced that the company is making their virtual lab environments available to the Global COVID-19 Relief Coalition (GCRC) Hackathon, led by scientists and entrepreneurs at Cornell University, Stanford University Healthcare Innovation Lab, and RoundGlass, and in collaboration with the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
The Global COVID-19 Relief Coalition is a federally approved 501 c 3 public charity and is a project of The Giving Back Fund. The GCRC Hackathon is crowdsourcing solutions from people globally in an effort to help develop and deploy technology that could help address the novel coronavirus pandemic and mitigate its effects. Through this collaborative effort, Vocareum and GCRC will be offering hackathon teams with support and technology to prototype, test and implement their solutions on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud. AWS is funding this activity with $180,000 towards in-kind credits.
“The GCRC Hackathon serves as a conduit to connect people with different skills and talent to create meaningful solutions to aid in the fight against COVID-19. Vocareum is playing a key role in making this possible,” said Ami Stuart, Tech Events Manager at Entrepreneurship at Cornell, who is leading the hackathon effort. Vocareum’s platform streamlines management of teams, distribution of AWS accounts and managing of the AWS credits that power ideas from hackathon teams.
