The fundamental difference :
1. In stroke, there is paralysis of either upper or lower face
2. In bell's palsy, both the lower and upper face are paralyzed
3. Stroke is due to either a floating embolus, due to hemorrhage or due to ischemia
4. Bell's palsy is due to the destruction of the facial nucleus and it's idiopathic onset
5. Stroke results in a permanent deficit
6. Bell's palsy is reversible
