The Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday said two more China-made biscuits were found positive for melamine based on the sixth batch of results issued by the Bureau of Food and Drugs (BFAD).
The DOH said the two food products that have tested positive for melamine are Lotte B&W Koala Biscuits and Lotte Chocolate Snack Koala Biscuits.
The BFAD has now found six China-made milk and milk products contaminated with melamine.
Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said they will also ban the two biscuits in the local market.
The five other items earlier banned for melamine contamination are JollyCow Slender High Calcium Low Fat Milk (1 liter); Greenfood Yili Fresh Milk (in Chinese character); Mengniu Drink (in Chinese character); Lotte Strawberry Snack Koala Biscuit.
Meanwhile, the DOH said there are also 22 other food products tested negative for melamine.
These include Angels First Love Barquillos Fresh Milk Wafer Sticks; Barbecue Candy (MM); Darrys Milk Choco Candy; Golden Fuji Crisp Tomato Flavor Cracker; Golden Fuji Vegetable Flavor Cracker; Houshuang Winter Mint Candy (MM); KZ Gundam Long Candy; Nicc Choice Pineapple Cake; OO Chocolate Bean Candy; Sandwich Biscuits (Green Wrapper) in Chinese Characters; Sandwich Biscuits (Purple Wrapper) in Chinese Characters; Sandwich Biscuits (Yellow Wrapper) in Chinese Characters;
Sour Lollipop 2 in 1 (Strawberry, Orange, Pineapple); Sweet Dart 8.8 Butter Ball Candy; The New Zoland Company Omilk Bon Bon Yogurt Milk Soft Drops (Grape Flavor); W.L. Sweet Dart Pines Milk Candy; W.L. Sweet Dart Royal Orange Candy; W.L. Yaahoo Cheese Biscuit; Zhongshan Meihua Galletas de Chocola Te Butter with Filling Cake; Zhongshan Meihua Good Taste Sweet Smelling and Crisp Biscuits (Nutrition Health Foods).
Two milk products from Indonesia - Lipton Milk Tea (Original Flavor) and Lipton Milk Tea (Vanilla Flavor) – were also tested negative for melamine. - PNA
