Bran, after you eat your humba, go back to the vegetarian and healthy thread because I posted a simple and healthy soup.

How do you cook your humba?  Gave you tried using red wine instead of water to dilute the vinegar?  Try it, it's good!

ug taas imung uric acid, take medications to reduce hyperuricemia; drink alot of fluids to dilute and flush away uric acid pood. The xanthine oxidase inhibitor allopurinol has been a milestone in the prevention of acute uric acid nephropathy. It blocks the conversion of hypoxanthine and xanthine to uric acid, resulting in both a reduction in serum uric acid concentration and urinary excretion of urates.

Dong, I was sent to the emergency in April for bleeding ulcer and I didn't go back to the doctor after I was released from 5-day hospitalization, what should I take or do?  I was given Nexxium but nahurot na.  I don't want sana to take so much medication.  If I can remember, I take couple of teaspoons of Manuka Honey a day.  Is that okay?

Ate, I cannot give you medical counsel as I am not a licensed or board certified physician, my only advice is to see and talk to your physician as soon as possible. I would follow his recommendations, but if you are uneasy about proceeding with his directions, then it won't hurt you to see another doctor and see his/her prognosis on your condition. Please be safe, ha? Always take care of yourself.

Sige.

But from my knowledge of Nexium, it is used to treat GERD (Gastroesophageal reflux disease) which is manifested by excessive gastrointestinal acid production (which is highly corrosive as our stomach acids are  diluted versions of hydrocholoric acid). Ate, I know that Nexium is used to treat esophogitis, do you have that problem? If so--you should talk to your doc about that.
Abi nimo, bleeding ulcers are caused by excessive acid production, however you have to take into consideration of primary, secondary and tertiary pathogenic infections; bleeding ulcers are caused by bacterial infection in the gastrointestinal tract by the bacteria Helicobacter pylori which will embed itself in the tissues of the stomach--and if a ulcer breakage is manifested--can spread itself into the bloodstream. Did your doc also give you antibacterials to be taken with Nexium? Make sure that he properly diagnoses that you are suffering from only ulcers; because there is a possiblity of gastric infection.

Ate, if you are still experiencing the symptoms of bleeding ulcer--i would suggest you ask for your family physician's counsel. In the meanwhile, you should also try some herbal remedies to help you--
Long thought to aggravate ulcers, cayenne pepper in moderation actually helps heal them in some cases. Stimulating blood flow to bring healing nutrients to the area, this member of the nightshade family can be good therapy for ulcers. Taking 1/4 teaspoon in 1 cup of hot water per day is all it takes.

Cabbage and its juice are also known for their ulcer-healing abilities. Researchers have found that ulcer patients who drink 1 quart of raw cabbage juice a day often heal their ulcers in five days. Those who eat cabbage also have quicker healing times, although not as dramatic as with the juice.

Garden produce rich in flavonoids may be helpful, too. Studies indicate that some bioflavonoids inhibit the growth of H. pylori. These compounds are also useful as anti-inflammatories. Eat red- and purple-colored foods, such as plums, berries, and red cabbage. Parsley and onions are also good sources. Garlic and licorice have also been shown to kill H. Pylori in test tubes.

Bilberry is used frequently in Russia to treat ulcers. It reduces inflammation in the stomach and intestines and protects their fragile mucous membranes. Calendula is also good for ulcers due to its wound-healing ability. It is slightly unpleasant to drink as tea; add calendula tincture to a pleasantly flavored beverage.
+++++

Intake of milk, water, and yes Honey is a good thing. Try evading eating acidic foods in excess kai mao man na mo aggravate sa imung stomach.

Yes, Dong, I had upper GI problem - acid reflux which I supposed that caused to have bleeding ulcer.  I had massive blood loss!  I suffered a lot when I was in the hospital for 5-days early April of this year.  They poke me a lot of times to extract blood while they also tranfused blood!  They put a camera thru my nose then thru my throat then thru my you know where!  I am so scared of needles na jud!  I will try the medicinal stuff you wrote here.

Maybe you are right; I need exercise na rin for proper blood circulation.  Thanks a lot, Dodong!

Yes, Em, I was fairly a healthy person until that time but I am feeling better.  The doctors said it was also due to stress so I am removing stress in my life. lol
