This is what happens when your platelets are down. If I'm not mistaken this shot was taken when I had a platelet count of 10 or 10k. This is what happens with leukemia, my bone marrow produces too much cells that don't mature, therefore, it cannot produce rbc's, white blood cells and platelets normally.
A platelet count of 10k is dangerously low. It is similar to the count of patients who get dengue fever. It means, we bruise easily, a pinch, a massage, a nudge can cause hemorrhaging, or the rupture of blood vessels.

"This image was shot Aug. 29, 2008, during my 1st stay at The Medical City. It was this time when I had my INDUCTION (1st Chemotherapy session) and when I was battling pneumonia.
When you see the bruise on my arm, this is reminiscent of the images we see from hazing victims of fraternities. Hazing should be outlawed by the way.
I was taking GCSF ( Granulocyte colony-stimulating factor) which aids the blood count parameters to go up most especially the white blood cell count.
The cause of my bruise? 1 tiny needle injection of G-CSF. Can you see what a tiny needle prick can do? And this "pasa" was already healing, but look at the damage.
I hope this post was helpful to all the readers. And all the bleeders."*
