Balani man jud!  Tawag namo ana kay bani.  Sa una tig ad-ad baja ko'g bani ipakaon sa among baboy na para ihawon pagka fiesta. hehehe

Maring, I still don't eat kanding for a silly reason na luoy ilang hilak kon ihawon.  Well, as you can see in my earlier post, I made lamb meatballs.  Sa una dili pod ko gakaon ana but Murage convinced me that's healthier than baboy.  That the first I actually made a lamb meatballs.  My sister from LA when she was here for Christmas, nag palit 3 pounds ug ground lamb kay diha unta to sya'y lutuon but never got the chance so mao naa sa akong freezer.  It's lean jud and good!

Two days ago, for dinner,  I made a one pot dish of bihon mixed with shrimps (leftover cocktail shirmps from New Year na akong gi freeze), broccoli, celery stalks and umm, yes, I put cherry tomatoes kay daghan man sobra sa salad adtong New Year and besides wala man jud na gi totally cook, daw garnish lang ba.  I know, dapat di butangan but it added color and "healthiness" of the dish, di vah? hehehehe  Palusot na pod ko!






Sis kalami ba aning imong gipangluto. Na gikutasan gyod ko nagtan-aw.
Ako ni sundongon ugma puhon sis.

Hahahaha Sis, part na sya sa challenge.  I think ok ra man mo eat jud but in moderation.  Like in this case, that's the only thing I ate (though it wasn't in moderation but a big o plate like bandihado hahahahah).  Kidding aside, my weight didn't go down yet but I felt lighter now that I am conscious with the amount and quantity of food I take, plus a little and increasing exercises.

kalami bitaw ani oi, galaway ko gatan aw oi.  Ging mosign up kuno mi sa gym, suwayan kuno para matinood na jud ning fecha dos crusade namo dire , hehehehe.  nacontrol na hinoon nako gamay ang kaon, gamay ra gud pod.  i try to avoid sweets ug soda na jud.

I am luckier in that aspect Ams kay di man jud ko ganahan ug soda since birth.  busa bitaw ingnon ko sa akong mga friends sa bigger cities na wa ba daw Coke sa Bohol.  Ingon ko, excuse me lang kay silingan namo ang planta sa coke! heheheeh  Anyhow, ga control ko sa mga chocolates especially kay daghan ayo gipadala akong bestfriend sa Hawaii na Macadamia in Chocolate and Caramel.  Aguy, ma abrihan bitaw isa ka box, di jud pwede dili mahurot so wa na lang nko na abrihi.

hahahaha! I gotta admit, you ladies are right. I've stuck with this okra diet for the past week and I lost about 5.5 lbs. My main goal is to to loose another 20+ lbs before I go back to the Philippines. I only eat about 1 chicken breast worth of meat a day ra jud. Ug ma gutom ko mo ka-on ra ko ug half an apple.

Lifting weights and walking is key jud. Dieting alone does nothing.

You know what helps? Eating small meals. I personally eat 4 times a day, but they are small meals. Like an apple, a salad, etc. I know plenty of people who starve themselves in effort to 'loose' weight, but that in itself is the antithesis of weight loss and healthy practice.

By starving yourself or only 'eating once a day'  you are starving your body and confusing your digestive system; and slows metabolic growth and processes. Hence, when you do eat, your body will have a hard time to metabolize the consumed food, hence a manifestation in weight gain.

Don't starve yourself, eat regularly, the point I'm trying to stress is containing and controlling urges to 'cheat' or 'snack'. Believe me, ive been there, and done that. So far I've lost about 22 lbs through my dieting. What really helps is not excessive cardio work out, that merely stretches the body. What really is effective is weight lifting. You don't have to indulge in heavy weights, you can start of doing bench presses with 20 lbs, curls with 15 lbs, and working out your obliques, your trapezius, your intercostals, etc. Go slow.

For the beginners out there, i suggest starting with 20-25 lb barbells or dumbbells--maintain a fixed routine and when your feel your muscles ascertaining, then slowly increase the dumbbell weight. Muscles will get acclimated to a certain weight--keep on changing and increasing it to keep the momentum.

Don't exceed your physical limitations. Overdoing things can result to ligamental, tendon and muscular stress. Be realistic. Be faithful to the routine. And most of all, make sure you have a healthy balanced diet when engaging weight training.

O i saw Tiya's stationary bike too facing the TV hhahahahha!

anyway our 1-d-1-8 "thing" is what we call our dinner here, usually in between 1 pm to 6 pm...

but that doesnt mean that we are starving ourselves cuz we are having some slight meals like fruits and yogurts (for me)...

I always have something in the morning a little meal like half a bagel or just a roll with coffee if not just a mug of hot choco.

then the rest mga carrots and celery and my yogurts if i want to...

O before i forget, i got two boxes of goodies from Tiya which im considering our desert everytime after our big meals...

everything in our fridge is now the  "diet" (no sugar) stuff and low fat  (which my banana's doctor recommended)

No problem, 'te. My dad actually does this routine and so far he shrank from wearing size XL shirts to L shirts. He used to weigh 230, now he is 198 and still loosing more weight. He doesnt even have a gut anymore, his chest is firm. He's been in the Okra diet for two and a half months. And pivotal to his weight loss has been daily weight lifting. Bench presses, inclined presses, dumbbells, barbels and squats.

See, nakita jud nimo Maring akong stationary bike na karaan infront of the tv noh! hehehehe  About the goodies, the Mango Square isn't really that bad compared to the Butterscotsch kay lesser in sugar and butter.  sige lang gud, 1 serving a day, I don't think that can do bad. hehehehe

Successful weight loss is 50 percent attitude. Decide you're going to lose weight permanently and just do it.

Out with the Old, In With the New
Go through your cabinets and fridge - and toss or donate all unhealthy, problematic junk food. Also, be sure to get rid of your personal trigger foods. These are the foods that once you start eating: you can't stop. Instead, stock up on produce, lean meats, low-fat dairy and whole grains.

Prepare to Prepare
Take 10 minutes the night before to plan out your food for the next day. That's because our days can often become hectic and overwhelming, causing us to impulsively grab high-fat, calorie-loaded food. On the other hand, if you're mentally prepared with a food strategy, you'll be less likely to jump ship.

Don't Forget to Eat

Dong, I had fried plantain this morning. Ummm, a little FDC sin I need to confess:  I sprinkled brown sugar when the plantain was about to get done and so my plantain is crusted all over with the yummy sugary flavor. Yum!

It's actually a soy bean that is picked at a certain time of maturity.  It really looks like snap peas but more plump ang beans.  It's good.  You can always order Edamame in Japanese restaurant.  Last week, smiffy found it at the Sam's Club.  Oh, just great!  It was organic and pre-cook na.  I still warm it up though in the microwave because I like it warm when I pop each seed one by one from the pod.  Yum!
