Michael Babyak, PhD, researcher at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, who conducted a study of 750 men over 22 years.Men who exhibited such vocal characteristics as attempting to interrupt conversations and making quick responses were 60% more likely to die sooner than men who spoke quietly and were more laid back.
Theory: Socially domineering men need to be in control at all times. This increases levels of stress hormones in the blood, which can, over time damage the heart and immune system.
