DOH-3 confers Central Luzon Excellence Award for Health award to CDC

CLARK FREEPORT, Pampanga, March 3 (PNA) -- The Department of Health 3 (DOH) has conferred to Clark Development Corporation (CDC) the Central Luzon Excellence Award for Health (CLExAH) 2016 in support and promotion of women’s health and welfare in the workplace.

The recognition of the government’s health agency to CDC is attributed to the application of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Healthy Women Healthy Economies (HWHE) Policy Toolkit inside the Freeport.

The Health and Sanitation Division (HSD) of CDC facilitated the application of the policy toolkit for 10 companies in Clark and participated in the consolidation of results even before the HWHE workshop.

Dr. Clemencita D. Dobles, manager of HSD, attended the said workshop held in Lima, Peru last year.

Likewise, Freeport’s locator-company, La Rose Noire Phils was among the chosen firms for its best practices for women in the workplace.

The firm was represented by Rolando Zafra who was among the invitees to attend the APEC 2016 in Peru together with the representatives from CDC and DOH.

HWHE is an APEC initiated agenda for enhancing women’s economic participation on improving women’s health. The task is to develop a policy toolkit to identify health barriers that may constrain women’s participation in the workplace.

The HWHE Policy Toolkit Scorecard was developed by the DOH along with other partners Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Philippine Commission on Women (PCW), Merck Phils., among others.

The toolkit covers five core areas: Workplace Health and Safety, Health Access and Awareness, Gender based Violence, Sexual and Reproductive Health, and Work Balance.

With the theme “Sustaining Excellence in Health in 2016 and beyond,” CLExAH aims to give recognition to partner-government agencies and private firms for their outstanding performances and significant contributions to maintaining a healthy community and workplace. (PNA)

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
