Blood typing in Paranaque City a success
MANILA, Feb. 28 (PNA) -- The city government of Paranaque highlighted the importance of health programs on Tuesday (February 28) by conducting blood typing, pre-screening and bloodletting.
According to Paranaque Executive Assistant V Mario Jimenez, the activity promotes the importance of knowing one’s blood type in case of emergencies.
“Just like in the newly constructed Ospital ng Paranaque (OsPar), we have to know a patient’s blood type in case of blood transfusion. Since we conduct blood donation also every month of February, we have to be sure that everything is in place before any process is done,†Jimenez said.
"In blood donations which we give to patients, we usually collect an average of 150 to 200 blood bags," he said.
The Paranaque city government is planning to have its own blood bank this year at OsPar and is expected to be fully operational before the year ends.
As of now, permanent identification card is being issued to every resident of Paranaque indicating all information needed by doctors or physicians at all cases.
Mayor Edwin Jimenez said the program is the focus of his administration along with scholarship grants to indigents and returned on investment of investors who have suddenly flooded Paranaque, their full support financially and medically.
The occasion was attended with people teaming from all directions -- Paranaque City, Las Pinas City and Bacoor City. (PNA) lgi/Ma. Jessa Mae E. Estomo (OJT)
