KLARO ug HAYAG PA SA BUWAN ANG KALAMBOAN SA LUNGSUD SA GUINDULMAN..... We will appreciate and support her...

The mayor is the world's most admired environmentalist. She had massacred Guindulman's centuries-old acacia trees.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. - John 3:16-18

Mayor (Dr. Piezas).

To set things clear Fe Piezas is a registered nurse and not a doctor, it´s her husband.

Diskosyon kini dili panlibak.
There are facts here that are really true and I hope I could confront Fe why on earth are the acacia trees gone. This lousy reasoning that the trees are sore to the eyes is not valid. Trees undergone some biological process or cycle due to some stress in its habitat.

This is a tree in winter

This is a tree in spring

its an obligation sa government official to deliver services the required services ....
finishing a proposed project is just a step.. but the question is.. thus it improve the lives of its constituents
its an achievement if it is completed within the allocated budget and time frame..and so on
We appreciate projects like these but we should also measure the effects to the lives of the people..

Mao tingali gipaputol ang mga kahoy para makit-an ang mercado... unsa may importante diay? ang view or ang environment? it took more than a hundred years to grow those trees and they just cut them down to make way for whaaaat? sa una, dili man gani to nila pa-lansangan og mga election posters kay madaot ang kahoy, unya karon, giputol na hinoon. twisted! twisted thinking! very twisted!

Inday Candijaynon, what irritates me is that I really made an error in my posting and I want to correct this since I know her personally. It is also not my intention to belong to this league, I´m happy where I am and I have children more worth than any millions in the world. No amount of money can certify you as a good human being, also on this day, the Lord reminds us that his heart belongs to the poor and the deprived.

Paisano K,

Happy holidays !!!

Haha.   ;D

In fairness, guapo kaayo ang bag-ong merkado.  I took 3 or 4 photos and the new market is at par with other towns having new structures.  On the issue of the century old demolished acacia trees, I wish those trees are still there.  The good Mayor must have  good reasons why she ordered those trees to be cut.

Cheers!

Bedo

Una tungod kay ang atong Mayor admistration man so dali magfollow up kon budget ang storyahon.

Kudos to our Mayor Dr. Piezas for the job well done and thanks to our former Mayor who spent alot of time doing follow-up for the released of the funds.

we always have to consider the natures.....dili nata kita ug lami nga lugar kon mawala nana sila kay atong gipangpatay.....

Wa man lagi lami.

Ang design cubical which is not appropriate for public market. Ang public market should be an open place with less walls and more stalls so buyers could move around freely. There should be lots of free space for vendors to post their advertisements and banners and it should be visible for the public from all corners. A market should only be at ground level with high roofing for better ventilation, contrary to the mayors claim of a multi storey building.

Sa iyang design walay ventilation. Dili lusot lusot ang hangin ug mag kinahanglan pa kini ug air-conditioning units, which is again a burden of the town.

Wake up kung kinsa ang nag suggest ani nga market. We are not in the northern hemisphere but in a tropical country.

Kung ako ang pa designon ug public market, it should look like a dome with no walls around so the cool breeze from the sea and natural light could come in, minimizing the use of electricity.

This is not a practical design for a public market. After all unsa man ang purpose sa building, comfort to the eye or comfort to the shopping public. This design could give more favor to big entrepreneurs nga dunay ika rent sa pwesto, driving away small vendors who can only afford a square meter of space.

Unsa man ang mga facilities ani nga merkado? Kung kalibangon ta, duna bay hinlo nga kasilyas? Mao man ni ang importante.

Also, duna ba kini "Waste Disposal System (solid or liquid)" asa man paingon ang waste water ani nga mercado? Sa akong pag too diretso sa dagat as pollutant. Naa ba ni water treatment or septic tank before disposing the water to the sea?

ang merkado sa una, para nako, may juy kinasaktuhan. sama pananglitan sa Baclayon, open space unya multi-purpose. i know maot ang sa Baclayon, pero sa pagka-practical ug maintenance costs, unsa may ikasaway?

Sakto ka Jig because a market does not need a sophisticated building. Remember, trading was born on the rugged terrain of the 'Silk Route' and on the rough seas of the 'spice route'. People defy dangerous elements for the sake of better value.

our city market is described as an open covered general retail market. and the emphasis is on value for money. barato pa jud kaayo ikumpara sa naa sa supermarket.

kasagaran mga city or town markets diri nga naadto-an na nako, traditional ug simple ra kaayo ang structure. ug di ka kita ug mga pagarpar nga signs like 'thru the efforts of Mayor so and so blah di blah di blah'... and I live in a first world country! how ironic...

Base sa litrato nga gi-post, the concept and criteria of the design of the Public Market is similar to a typical Commercial Shopping Mall, which is neat, modern and nice looking structures in fairness. But the disadvantages are the operating and maintenance cost which will be so high.
The most expensive maybe is the operation cost like electricity to run the centralized air-conditioning system (hope it has one) and to generate power needed for the building. Which I guess 80% to 90% mga taga-Guindulman.

Daghang salamat Engr. Bob sa imong tampo.

Ako bitaw ni nga gi share nga topic sa among grupo sa PICE Eastern Province ug ang ilang sugyot sa pinaka the best design is dome or pyramid shaped skeletal design using I-beams & tension wire. Kini nga design is using less materials & cost compared to reinforced concrete one. The dome shape will also ensure stability and has aerodynamic properties incase of typhoon. the cover of the dome will be light PVC which is also durable and cheap.

Ako pod ni gi share sa among adviser nga si Illac Diaz para iyang suggestions since he is an advocate of using indigenous local material para minos gastos.

WOW! Bongga....

Unsa man ang financing ani? Grant or Loan?

Scary, how a small town can pay for the amortization of this market? Well, if the stalls will be fully occupied, then there will be no problem meeting the financial requirements. Assuming there are vendors, are there buyers too?  Considering the economy in Guindulman, I doubt if the people has that spending capabilities like the big city.

I don’t want to sound presumptuous (forgive me) but , I can’t help thinking that  right now we can see a WHITE ELEPHANT on the making in the heart of Guindulman. Another administrative blunder should I say. Tssskk.

May the souls of the acacia trees will not vindicate, curse and scare the Good Luck Fairy away.

Sakto jud ning pulong nga white elephant. Leasing a stall is so expensive just to think of overhead expenses.

Everyone has his or her opinions on lots of things and issues.

And each leader has his or her own way of leading group of people or community based on financial resources, current political aura, personal life experiences and community needs. This mayor is given the authority to decide lots of things being an elected official (if you have a problem with her winning stint, then blame it to the people who gave her good votes) and she should make decisions on lots of things.

There are so many ways in killing a cockroach like there are so many ways to lead our town or decide how this market would look like as its end result.

As long as at the end of the day, the Mayor is doing what is good for the town / community, that is what she is elected for. I have no problem her building this market as long as everything is LEGAL, then she has my approval, period.

I only have a problem with those people who open their mouths saying they can do better but have not proven to actually had done things to reflect what they are saying. I also have problems with those who are running for elected offices trying to get what the governements can do for them like monthly salaries town and baranggay officials, instead of thinking what they can do for the people they are serving or their country or community.

You should have your personal resources already on board that can sustain your life as a public servant or elected public official. Because commitment and voluntary public service is what these work is all about. If you do not have enough personal resources, then leave public office and work somewhere else to make a living other than extracting money from people's money being a public official.

Yes, you can criticize somebody and expect some people to defend what is right or whoever is doing good and that is just a given.

Yes, you can say whatever you want and at the end of discussion, it boils down to this: it is my right to express my opinions. Duh, it's an old story. I believe in that since it's true but is an old blah (sort of an excuse for trying to hurt somebody).

I still believe that people can defend other people esp. if they are doing the right thing or doing something good for the community or placing things in correct perspectives. Like you know, fair is fair.

I hope you guys post something that is fair and square because people know better even if they are not responding.  Please do yourself and your townmates a favor.

Just make sure that when you state your opinions, they are way too strong to be toppled down. Otherwise, you are just wasting your time and of others'.

Nobody wants to suppress your right to express your opinions but expect people to respond to them to wake you up. And you know that already. You are such a waste of time if that is the case.

You can suggest better ideas and proposals and do them actually yourself with your bare hands, and not just trying to be a pain in the neck. That will be appreciated. Or perhaps you start a community project that will help this community.

It is short-sighted and dangerous to constitute legality as the sole criterion in assessing the actuations of a leader.

Wow, gone is "Vox Populi, Vox Dei, the voice of the people is the voice of God. Admittedly, there was a dramatic alteration/transformation in the real meaning of leadership and power.

Too sad, not only our natural resources are denuded but also the morals of our people. To add more insult, we are known as deeply religious.  Hypocrites abound, what else I can say.

The poor can run for office but they have to stay poor or whatever financial capability they were in (or personal income from businesses they started) prior to running for an office or career that they choose other than being a public official.

When public officials start to get rich, you know that there is a chance that they are stealing funds from the people and government treasury. They are liable and be jailed if found guilty, plain and simple. Somebody should be jailed already by now to teach these corrupt public officials big lessons. That is plain logic.

If you are rich already and would like to run for a public office, then maybe that is much better. You just have to disclose your assets and money so you will not be accused of stealing prior to serving a public office. Maybe this is a good rule, no problem. You have the money and leave the people's money alone to important community projects and important government transactions.

Public servants are not supposed to be rich while they are in power. The job is voluntary and they should not be compensated. It becomes a problem if the poor public servant becomes rich from stealing public funds and illegal briberies.

Watch out. You might be taking these points out of context. As long as you do not steal money for your daily needs living on your income with your career or whatever financially stability you are in and get rich from stealing people's money, that is always the rule.

Stop being narrow - minded folks and do not twist opinions around making such good opinions look bad. That is wrong and you should not do that to anyone. That is plain outrageous.

If you keep on calling people bad names, people will condemn you and they can call you worst names that you could never imagine. If you don't like their posts, then leave them alone.

They have your opinions like you do.

Respect begets respect, understand that. Matanda ka pa naman, you should know better. Being matanda does not give you the permission or authority to use name-calling like sycophants or whatever because that is being disrespectful to anyone even to young ones of the young generation who are listening to you esp if they are stating their opinions.

Plus you cannot stop stop me from stating my opinions by calling me names. Ironically, you are calling for more arguments or even verbal war.

You are actually teaching the young ones as well to do the same thing being disrespectful and the cycle will continue. I tried not to call anyone bad names bec that is very inappropriate and inhumane, again inhumane. And there you are with your cohorts in this forum calling everyone names like ignorants, etc. What?

That is so pathetic..

By the way, there is a difference between saying "that is so pathetic" and calling somebody "you are pathetic". I am being the former and not the latter. I just need to say that. If you don't understand that, sorry that is not my problem. But the intelligent people know better.

Teach them to be respectlful by being respectful to them. As an adult you should know that by now and apparently, you do not. What a shame.

Otherwise we will disrespect you like you disrespect us. PEACE..!!

It was interesting to read at first about the cutting of the trees in Guindulman.Sad and emotional to think about it.Now it is getting personal insults to some and take the fun out of the TB.There is one thing hopefully that would stop this bickering .Invite  Mayor Piezas and answer a few questions to Some members.Mayor Piezas,I double dare you to join TB and kind enough to end this issue.

This sounds a good idea Cujo.

Personally, I have nothing against the personal character of Mayor Piezas. It was her action and decision of cutting those trees that I am not in favor.

Mayor Piezas must understand that this is not politics anymore and we are not among her political adversaries that are trying to topple her party. We are just plain citizens reacting to an unethical action that she recently did. By the way, my congratulations for the landslide results.

If she is a fair person, then she should face the music here in TB to express her views or to say sorry.

Let us end this and start discussing positive ideas that could benefit us all.

Tip: The best respect you could give to yourself is keeping composure, otherwise you would hurt yourself by looking stupid in front of others.
