Press Release
PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT PARTNERS WITH MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENTS IN THE EFFORT TO ESTABLISH WATERWORKS SYSTEMS IN WATERLESS BARANGAYS

The provincial government will start with the procurement of Geo Resistivity equipment for ground water exploration to efficiently address the lack of water sources in 69 percent of the 1,109 barangays in Bohol.

This is to ensure that the additional water sources to be identified and explored are apt for sustainability.

So far, 18 municipalities had submitted 349 level-1 water sources to the Bohol Environment Management Office, and the Provincial Planning and Development Office was furnished a copy of the list.

The records at the BEMO and PPDO also show that there are 243 waterless barangays located in 24 towns. This means 22 percent of the 1,109 barangays in Bohol are waterless.

The information was presented during the meeting of Governor Art Yap and officials from the Provincial Engineers Office (PEO), Provincial Budget Office (PBMO), Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO), Bohol Environmental and Management Office (BEMO), and Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA).

The planned long-term program to provide wáter supply to waterless barangays was discussed during the meeting, where Yap proposed that the provincial government will provide wáter impounding projects to be located in strategic areas and the municipal governments will provide for the pipings to tap wáter supply from the impounding facilities.

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
