Provincial Capitol to set up its own Medical Clinic
« on: August 12, 2007, 08:25:06 PM »
press release

The Provincial Capitol Complex will soon have its own medical clinic if the request for the establishment of the facility will be given due consideration by the provincial chief executive.

This development came after the 8th Sangguniang Panlalawigan unanimously approved Resolution Number 2007-380, a Resolution Requesting the Governor of the Province of Bohol, Hon. Erico B. Aumentado, to establish a Medical Clinic within the Provincial Capitol Complex.

Third District Board Member Aster Apalisok-Piollo, author of said measure, articulated in her resolution that the provincial capitol complex, being the center of the provincial government, badly needs a medical clinic for emergency and regular check-up purposes that the officials and employees can easily avail of.  She said that the inhabitants in the capitol complex has reached to more than five hundred fifty workers not counting the visiting employees from other departments and agencies.  She further articulated that a medical clinic in capitol complex will drive the officials and employees to become more aware of their health and lifestyle.

The said resolution which was strongly endorsed by the Committee on Health was reported to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan by Board Member Ma. Fe Camacho-Lejos in behalf of the Committee Chairman, Board Member Yul Lopez who presided over the session.

The resolution of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan came at a time when there were already two board members who died successively.  Board Member Renato Lim of the Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) went ahead of others in November 4, 2000.  ABC Vice President Cariso Camacho who succeeded Lim as Board Member, died of cardiac arrest fourteen months after the death of his president.

Some survey say that deaths of government officials and employees maybe caused by their lifestyle and the nature of their work.  This scenario demands a regular check-up in order to monitor the health condition of the affected sector of our society.

Maybe due to the successive deaths of ABC presidents in the province of Bohol, the sitting president of the said association, Board Member Romulo Cepedoza, opted to use other room in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.  Presently, the ABC occupies the office of former Governor Rene Relampagos while first district Board Member Lopez occupies the vacated ABC office.

The envisioned medical clinic in the capitol complex is highly welcomed by the capitol occupants.  However, its realization depends on the approval of the governor.

Wow, working there would be fun!

Public service should be fun in a serious way... not an unwanted burden
The work is not just a mere job. It's a joy.

This smacks of a grand conspiracy to hide the non-existent, to identify the nameless, to paint a picture of the unseen. -- Benelynne
