Town mayors hold a sensitive role in the implementation of a so-called integrated security system which is aimed to curb criminalities and at the same time prevent the re-entry of insurgency in the province.
Provincial PNP Director Edgardo Ingking issued the appeal to town mayors as the province will soon implement the Bohol Local Integrated Security System (BLISS) which generated the strong endorsement by Gov. Erico Aumentado who presided a joint meeting of the Provincial Peace and Order Council, Provincial Development Council and the League of Municipalities at the Bohol Tropics last Monday.
The governor said that it is a "pro-active" measure which will involve the police, military, civilian and people's organizations. A concerted effort has to be implemented to integrate and coordinate peace efforts in the province.
