“Our History is Our Strength†(Atong Kasaysayan, Atong Kalig-on) is this year’s theme for the upcoming women’s month celebration.
In a meeting held at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan session hall Tuesday, called by Vice Gov. Concepcion O. Lim in her capacity as GAD Focal Person of the Province of Bohol, different women’s groups agreed to make a “big bang†of events that will highlight the women’s role in nation building.
Each municipality will be submitting their plan of activities covering the whole month celebration. The activities will showcase the various products made or processed by recognized women’s group.
Vice Gov. Lim asked for cooperation for the success of the celebrations. She also required a listing of women-led enterprises existing in every municipality that will guide in the assessment of the capacity and identify the needs of each LGU so that the provincial government could integrate programs and projects fitting for each municipality.
Suggested home-based enterprises for women include stuff-toy making, food and products processing, handicrafts, weaving and even recycling of paper, cloth plastics and empty bottles.
For a merrier celebration, a Women’s Month Jingle Making Contest is made open to all LGUs. The jingle must deal on the theme “History is Our Strength†and must not be more than five minutes.
