ANOTHER LANDMARK TO ETCH
BOHOL IN PHILIPPINE HISTORY is the proposed Central Visayas Regional Cultural Hub on Banat-i Hill overlooking the province's capital and only city, Tagbilaran.
The site development plan was tackled today by Gov. Arthur Yap, First District Rep. Edgar Chatto, DPWH-7 Planning Division Chief Nonato Paylado, Architect Niño Guidaben, Lutgardo Labad of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts and Bohol Arts, Culture and Heritage Council, and Evelyn Ayuban of the Provincial Engineer’s Office.
The imposing
hub structure on the hill, a part of barangay Bool and Tagbilaran City's highest elevation, has to be new normal compliant.
The road leading to the site will have bike lanes and be spruced up to send a welcoming, embracing ambience.
There will also be museums and exhibits from other provinces in Region 7 to be showcased in the cultural hub.
It will be part of the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, Exhibitions) tourism in Bohol under the new normal.
On Banat-i Hill will also stand Bohol's new Hall of Justice.
Sustained by the Yap leadership in tandem with Vice Gov. Rene Relampagos, efforts for both landmark projects have been exerted since the administration of Chatto as then governor.
