Atienza leads Bohol groundbreaking rites for one-stop environmental shop
Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR)Secretary Lito Atienza leads on Friday groundbreaking rites for a one-stop shop facility in Tagbilaran City in Bohol, his office announced.
The facility will provide land registration and other land-related services to the public.
Before the rites, Atienza and Bohol Gov. Erico Aumentado are to forge an agreement granting the DENR a 50-year exclusive use of a parcel of land owned by the provincial government for the one-stop shop.
From Tagbilaran City, Atienza plans to proceed to Corella, a 6th class municipality of Bohol and home to Bohol's world-famous endangered resident tarsier, to distribute some 50 land patents to farmers. He will be assisted in the land distribution activity by Corella Mayor Vito Rapal.
While in Corella, Atienza will also meet with officers of the Philippine Tarsier Foundation to discuss the 7.4-hectare tarsier sanctuary in Brgy. Canapnapan, some 14 km north of Tagbilaran City.
On September 15, Atienza will lead the mangrove planting project in a coastal area in Barangay Bool, also in Tagbilaran City. Bool is where the blood compact shrine stands.
He will lead the cleanup of the same coastal area in observance of the 22nd International Coastal Clean-Up Day.
Proclamation No. 470 provides for the observance of the 3rd Saturday of September as International Coastal Clean-Up Day, while Proclamation No. 244 declares the month of September as National Clean-Up Month.
