In another forum, the provincial administration once again impressed the Armed Forces hierarchy with the innovative strategies in addressing insurgency through poverty reduction and development programs.
This was after Antonieto Pernia, head of the Provincial Government Media Affairs (PGMA) office and the Bohol Poverty Reduction and Management Office (BPRMO) of the Governor’s office, presented the speech of Governor Erico B. Aumentado on Day 1 of the three-day workshop held on March 4-6 in preparation for the turn-over of cleared areas to PNP by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
AFP will be handing over cleared areas to PNP in view of the relative success of the counter-insurgency program, specifically in dismantling of Communist terrorist movement guerilla fronts and clearing rebel-affected barangays, according to Armed Forces Chief of Staff General Hermogenes Esperon in his invitation letter to Aumentado sent prior to the activity.
