Gov. Art Yap pointed out that “though Bohol remains Covid-free, all over the world and in the Philippines, we are still in the midst of reaching the peak. We have to level it and bring it down”.
During this afternoon’s press briefing, the governor also emphasized that even without any positive case of the COVID-19 in the province, we still remain under threat. Thus, we have to retain the implementation of the policies and we should follow the guidelines of the executive order.
The provincial government will distribute food vouchers to the families in Bohol as well as funds for the barangays for other key projects.
Gov. Art Yap is also working on solutions to address our partners in the transportation sector as they are one of the most affected sectors.
The provincial government’s Offshore Boholanos Coordinating Team (OBCT) continues to monitor stranded Boholanos. Almost 500 beneficiaries have already been verified and given financial assistance and still counting up to this moment.
What is needed at this time is a little more of patience as the provincial government is calculating on the appropriate protocol, and that as the father of Bohol, it is the general welfare that the governor has in mind.
Gov. Art Yap also reported that Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital is now ready with its Covid-19 facilities for the first wave of 33 beds. In addition, around 2,000 personal protective equipment are due to arrive for our frontliners out of the 10,000 that are placed in the initial order.
