Army welcomes
Boholano hero
For having served God and country in utmost dedication, with deep sorrow, the 47IB rendered military honors as they facilitated the arrival and transportation of the cadaver of late LTC RUEL L TUNGOLH (CHS) PA to his home in Brgy Sta Fe, Alburquerque, Bohol on November 9, 2019.
The army together with his mother Lolita Lim Tungolh received Fr. Tungolh’s remains in the morning at Panglao International Airport after it arrived via military aircraft from Villamor Airbase, Pasay, City.
Tungolh, who rose to the ranks in the army’s military ordinariate, finished his secondary at Divine Word College of Tagbilaran and proceeded to Saint Camillus College Seminary in Marikina.
Inspired by his uncle Fr. Eugene Tungolh who used to serve the military diocese, Tungolh took the same path and was ordained priest.
Father Tungolh served the army’s spiritual needs and was assigned at the headquarters of the Northern Luzon Command in Camp Gen. Servilliano Aquino, San Miguel, Tarlac City before his transfer to Fort Bonifacio until his stint as the Chief Chaplain of the Philippine Army base in Taguig City.
Tungolh, 50, died at the national Kidney Training Institute in Quezon City, at 8:45 in the morning of November 5, 2019 due to heart disease and other health complications. (Elma Grace Remonde)
