Eleven people’s organizations (POs) each received from Gov. Edgar Chatto P10,000 livelihood assistance pursuant to the Livelihood Enhancement Towards Sustainable Human & Environmental Paradigm for Bohol & Livestock Integration for Food & Family Enhancement (
LETS HELP BOHOL & LIFFE PROGRAMS).
Four of the POs benefited from the program’s Agricultural Facilities Credit Assistance Project (AFCAP), which involves a revolving fund set aside as credit assistance to partner POs to buy farm tools and supplies.
The AFCAP recipients included the Del Rosario Farmers’ Association of Balilihan, Boyog Proper Rural Improvement Club, also of Balilihan, Abucay Norte Farmers’ Association of Sikatuna, and Lagtangan Farmers’ Association of Sevilla.
The seven other POs got aids from the Income Generating Activities (IGA) revolving fund, which is intended as credit assistance to partner POs to finance income generating projects.
The beneficiaries included the Causwagan East United Farmers’ Association of Catigbian, Poblacion Women’s Association of San Isidro, Cabancalan Farmers’ Association of Sevilla, Municipal Advisory Board also of Sevilla, Saguise Original Farmers Association of Getafe, San Miguel Developers†Association of Dagohoy, and Farmers’ Livelihood Development Multi-Purpose Cooperative of Bugang in San Miguel.
The granting of the credit assistance was one of the highlights of the opening of the Sandugo Agri-Technology Fair at the compound of the Office of the Provincial Agriculture and Office of the Provincial Veterinarian on Wednesday.
The check turnover was witnessed by Reps. Rene Relampagos and Arthur Yap, Agriculture Regional Dir Ricardo Oblena, Board Members Abel Damalerio and Venzencio Arcamo, Provincial Agriculturist Liza Quirog, OPV chief Dr. Stella Marie Lapiz, members of the Provincial Agricultural and Fishery Council, and other stakeholders.
The
LETS HELP BOHOL Program was started by then Gov. Rene Relampagos, now the First District congressman. Chatto was then his vice governor. The program was sustained by the Aumentado administration. (JONA ICOT/EDCom)
