Press Release: We are giving them the ability not only to produce but also to be successful businessmen with rice production", Bohol Governor Art Yap said as he attended the Farmers' Forum on Government Assistance to Irrigators' Associations in Region 7.
He shared to everyone that here in Bohol we are grouping the farmers to consolidate all the help that we can give. He wants the Boholano farmers to graduate from production into processing their own palays.
The said forum is one approach to bring the agency closer to the farmers in terms of relaying information on irrigation development. Invited guests are Regional Federation of Irrigators Associations (IAs) from Cebu, Negros Oriental, Bohol and Siquijor.
Cabinet Secretary Karlo Alexei Nograles, Gen. Ricardo Visaya (NIA Administrator), Engr. Wilson Lopez (Acting Regional Manager, Region 7), and Atty. Jiselle Rae Villamor (NIA Board Secretary) were also present in the event.
