Kia Motors introduces to the province its latest iteration of minivans, the 2007 Kia Carnival.
Previously known as the Sedona - prior to that, Carnival also - the 2007 model is completely redesigned and sports fresh new sheetmetal that has a decidedly more elegant and upscale styling.

The new minivan is also basking in the recent 5-star ratings in frontal and side impact tests for all seating positions given to it by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)-the highest possible rating.

The all-new Carnival offers more horsepower and torque than its predecessor and is also substantially larger in all key dimensions, providing 15% more passenger room and cargo-carrying capacity.  New features found on this newest Kia include a standard fold-flat-into-the-floor third-row seat and power sliding doors and liftgate.

And with increased power and torque, the all-new Carnival catapults itself into the higher end segment of its class.  A completely new 2.9-liter common-rail direct-injection (CRDi) DOHC turbo intercooled diesel engine pumps out a generous 160 ps at 3700 rpm while delivering improved fuel efficiency.

With more power, less weight and a new chassic with comfort-turned four-wheel independent suspension, the new Carnival should deliver a more rewarding drive then its predecessor and be highly competitive with its competitors.

Other accolades that the Carnival has received includes a “Gold Top Safety Pick” for its top ratings in frontal, side, and rear impact crash tests conducted by the U.S. Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in separate tests.

In order to receive a Gold Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS, a vehicle must receive a “good”-the institute’s highest rating-in all three categories of frontal, side and rear impact tests.  Among the eight current minivans IIHS has rated, only the Carnival earned a “good” in all three tests.

The new Kia Carnival’s retain price starts at P1.2 million for the entry-level LX M/T. The automatic variant retails for P1.275 million while the top-of-the-line EX, which sports a longer wheelbase, stickers at P1.55 million.
