News Release: Former Cabinet Secretary Leoncio Evasco Jr. is reportedly set to return to the Cabinet after his failed gubernatorial bid in
Bohol.
I welcomed the prospect of Evasco’s comeback, saying Duterte can consult with the former rebel priest on corruption matters.
“I can say without batting an eyelash that Evasco, a former priest and member of the communist New People’s Army (NPA), will bring back honesty and decency in the Palace when he gets reappointed to the Duterte Cabinet,â€
There was no mention in about the Cabinet position Evasco will reportedly be appointed to.
A longtime friend of Duterte, Evasco resigned from the Cabinet in October 2018 to run for governor.
His post was given to former Davao City Rep. Karlo Nograles.
