Press Release
Bohol Gov. Arthur Yap today met with the new DSWD Central Visayas head just three days after he urged the agency’s national office to hasten the release of the indigent social pension, especially the senior citizen benefit.
At their capitol meeting, the governor made known to DSWD Reg’l. Dir. Rebeccca Geamala the provincial government’s more aggressive approach to the delivery of social services.
At the launching of his weekly out-of-town people’s conversation “Tingog sa Mga Bol-anon” in Loon Friday, Yap said he had also sought the intervention of his “igso,” Sen. Bong Go.
In his text reply, Go assured his “igso” Yap he would pressure the DSWD to release the pension as fast as possible.
Along with the governor and Tagbilaran City John Geesnel Yap II, the Boholano-friendly senator and most trusted man of the president assisted the Cogon fire market victims.
Go committed P30 million to help construct a modern market and commercial center in the area.
Aside from the social pension, Philhealth issues and concerns were raised during the inaugural Tingog episode in Loon.
The governor brought along with him a Philhealth team headed by Mona Liza de Veyra.
