After the successful "Creek Clean Up Activity," the Tagbilaran City Host Lions Club and the employees of Tagbilaran Coca-Cola Plant has another joint Environmental Services - a tree planting at Taloto District surrounding the creek area.
During the regular meeting of the City Host Lions last Nov. 11 at the PDG Zoilo Dejaresco Hall, Lion Louie Ytol, chairman of the club's Environmental Services, received a full support from the Lions in his motion for a joint tree planting with the employees of Tagbilaran Coca-Cola Plant in which Lion Louie Ytol is the present plant operation manager.
The City Host Lions unanimously approved the motion of tree planting by Lion Ytol considering of the following benefits of planting trees: Trees can reduce global warming because trees use carbon dioxide in the production of chlorophyll. It can prevent soil erosion thus preventing flooding in the lowlands. It provides habitat for numerous species of birds and other forest wildlife. Trees beautify the surroundings.
The joint tree planting activity was successful done last Nov. 17 at Taloto District.
The acacia trees and 100 mahogany trees was planted surrounding the creek area.
Lion president Fely Lim led the City Host Lions namely Lion Velma Lim, Lion Rose Soy, Lion George Lim and Lion Louie Ytol.
