Eskaya community-based vegetable farm in Cantaub, Sierra Bullones

January 2019 - Bohol Gov. Edgar Chatto is shown opening the water sprinklers in the newly-planted part of the Eskaya community-based vegetable farm in Cantaub, Sierra Bullones. Wide parts of the farm have many kinds of vegetables already fully grown.
The farm is a community vegetable development project assisted by the Provincial Government through the Office of the Provincial Agriculture (OPA) and Chinese farm technical expert Sojiyuan Agro Development Group headed by Weng Lantian, shown fronting the governor.
The farm is 20 hectares vast, 12 hectares of which have been developed. The farm employs about 50 workers and they are members of the Eskaya tribe and residents of the community, according to Eskaya chieftain Roberto Datahan and former barangay captain Teofredo Escobilla. The farm is expanding to the boundary barangays of Taytay in Duero and Lundag in Pilar.
Sojiyuan’s Lantian said they plant and harvest up to 40 kinds of vegetables daily, 70% of which they sell in Cebu and the rest in Bohol markets. Bohol has sourced vegetables from provinces in Mindanao and Luzon, but is slowly reversing this trend with large investments such as this farm.
On his visit to the farm right on the first office day of 2019, Chatto brought along with him Provincial Planning and Development Officer John Titus Vistal and his team, OPA head Larry Pamugas, and governor’s chief of staff Liza Quirog. The governor continues to encourage backyard farming through the Bahay Kubo – FAITH program for food self-sufficiency at the household. FAITH means “Food Always In The Home.”
On the same day, January 3, 2019, Chatto visited the Green Thumb Farm of Rona and Jares Denque in Sambog, Corella which grows mushroom and processes mushroom products sold to the hotels. He also inspected the multi-specie fish hatchery of the Provincial Government in BISU-Bilar.

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
