An estimated 2,000 people benefited from the civic action (CIVAC) conducted Friday by the Bohol Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) chaired by Gov. Erico Aumentado in Barangay Cambitoon, Inabanga town.
Aside from Cambitoon residents, the beneficiaries also came from the barangays of adjacent Danao and Sagbayan towns. They availed of medical consultation, tooth extraction and circumcision with free medicine, massage and haircuts, rice, canned goods and other goodies, on top of agricultural and livestock consultations.
In his message during the opening program, Aumentado said the monthly activity, rotated among Bohol's three districts, is one of his administration's ways of bringing the government closer to the people.
Aumentado also took advantage of the gathering to rally the people to support President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in the wake of calls for her resignation by the opposition.
