Bohol, 6 other LGUs Win DILG's Seal of Good Local Governance
« on: November 20, 2017, 09:15:37 PM »
TAGBILARAN CITY, Nov. 11 (PIA-Bohol)--The province of Bohol and five local government units in the province earned the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Of the 81 provinces across the country, only 28 including Bohol will be honored with the SGLG.

Aside from the province, those who will be conferred on November 27 in Manila Hotel are the municipalities of Alicia, Bien Unido, Duero, Tubigon, and the City of Tagbilaran.

DILG Provincial Director Ma. Lousella Lucino in a radio interview said the awardees will be honored with an SGLG glass marker from the DILG while various amounts of monetary rewards will also be given to the different localities.

Bohol is set to receive P7 million while Tagbilaran City will get P5 million.

The four LGUs will receive P3 million each through the DILG Performance Challenge Fund, Lucino added.

This will be the third time that the province and Alicia town will be awarded with the SGLG since 2015, while it will be the first time that the Tagbilaran City will be conferred with the distinction.

In 2016, the towns of Corella, Duero, Maribojoc, Talibon, Tubigon, and Trinidad were also awarded with the SGLG.

The LGUs of Danao, Loboc, Loon, Maribojoc, Panglao, San Miguel, Sierra-Bullones, and Talibon earned the same award in 2015.

The SGLG is a progressive assessment system adopted by DILG to give distinction to remarkable local government performance across several areas.

To win the award, LGUs must pass the several key elements including financial administration, disaster preparedness, social protection and tourism, culture and arts.

For this year, the DILG raised its overall assessment criteria by including peace and order to its list of core areas. (ecb/PIA7-Bohol)

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
